BEES volunteers will be seeding the first floor wildflower meadow, and planting some trees, at Culture Fusion.
This is an exciting, and somewhat experimental project as we are not familiar with planting on 'green roof' substrates. We will watch with interest (and record progress on BEES website) to see how well the seeds germinate and grow.
Join the Aire Valley Bike Bus on your way to work. The 'bus' leaves Keighley at 7.20am, arriving at Centenary Square at about 8.15. Check the route and timetable on the website. We are hoping to have cycle tutors on the bus.
You are then invited to Culture Fusion (125 Thornton Road) for a quick tour and free breakfast (if you let us know in advance!).
12-18th March is Climate Week - an annual awareness raising campaign.
There are a number of or activities, events and exhibitions in Bradford during the week - some of these are listed in the attached flier, but check the events calendar for more things that are going on.
BEES are organising a Pedalled Powered Cinema on the 12th, a bike to work on the 14th and will be planting the urban wildflower meadow and trees at Culture Fusion on 16th March.
Come along and watch short movies and a major climate change focussed feature film all powered by pedal power!
Taking place in the students union at the university this fun and interactive event will really show how hard the power stations have to work to make your film watching experience.
With short films starting at 5pm and the main feature film at around 6pm this event will take place in the middle floor of the building or the lecture theatre (0.51 upstairs)
This is a new project to improve the biodiversity of the small woodland at the rear of Thornton Primary School. The project is being led by Thornton Community Partnership with the support of BEES staff and volunteers, and will link with the work of Bradford Urban Wildlife Group and Sustrans.
TCP wish to develop a group of volunteers who will take on future management of the woodland.

BEES will celebrate 25th years of environmental conservation in the Bradford District with a day touring some of the sites on which they have worked. This will be followed in the evening by a social event at the Bradford YMCA.
If you wish to attend, or for more information, please contact BEES.
2010 is International Year of Biodiversity and BEES (Bradford Environmental Education Service, part of Bradford YMCA) is running a series of short sessions to introduce people to local wildlife sites. This is an opportunity to enjoy and learn more about flowers, birds and insects.
The events are aimed at anyone with an interest in wildlife – you might be a complete beginner and just starting to explore local wildlife or you may already be an experienced naturalist wanting to enhance your skills and enjoy the habitats in the company of others.
